Can't move, can't walk
Can't breathe, can't talk
The same town we don't want
Face down on your front lawn
You can see me lying on the ground
You can see me lying
You can see me lying on the ground
You can see me lying
Can't sleep, still drunk
Cold hands, burnt tongue
Warm cheeks, face numb
Face down on your front lawn
Can't move, can't run
Long year, slow months
The same town we don't want
Won't leave like a burnt tongue
There's a light at the end of the tunnel
A light at the end of the tunnel
A light at the end of the tunnel you said
Well I'm at the end of the tunnel
I'm at the end of the tunnel
I'm at the end of the tunnel my friend
And I'm so sorry that I've got money
I'm so sorry for what you had
I'm so sorry that you're not funny,
But I'm not sorry that I feel bad
Things will get much much better
Things will get much much better
Things will get much much better you said
I am not much much better
I am not much much better
I am not much much better my friend
Heard you leaving through the basement door
Heard you leaving a couple times before
And all I said was, "I don't need you anymore."
And that's because I don't need you anymore
'Cause I'm too tired to follow you tonight
Heavy eyelids, tired of my life
All my teeth fall out like dust from the kitchen light
Teeth fall out like dust from the kitchen light that you left on
Now I stand on the shore with my feet in a cold great lake
I'm gonna let the truth save me from my honest mistakes
You try and let the blood wash out but the waves don't break
You can try and put your teeth back in but the roots won't take
Late at night lie awake, with you in my arms
A quiet night gone astray that keeps your bed warm
And I know you're not really mine; no, it's just too easy
But if you don't really mind, would you stay here with me?
Don't you go away from me
Don't you go away, oh please no
Don't you know I just can't be so all alone?
So all alone
Late at night lie awake, cold in my bed
Waiting up for a call that hasn't come yet
And I don't mean to come across like I blame you for it;
I just can't figure out when I got so desperate
about
"Feel Bad" is songs about dreams, being tired and/or drunk, wanting to be asleep and being alone. "Feel Bad" is a shitty title but I told myself I'd stick with it. "Feel Bad" isn't as bleak as it sounds. "Feel Bad" isn't about you. Neither is "The Roots."
